The model minority is a minority group that is said to go the furthest in life or reach higher standards. In education, social and economic status they are perceived to be the chosen ones in my words. They are looked at the ones with the best grades and knowledge. They will end up having money in the end and reach all their goals.
Model Minority and other stereotypes have affected Asian Americans in many ways. Asian Americans are looked at as wealthy because of all these stereotypes and because they are looked as the model minority. People think they are not in need of welfare or other benefits because of these stereotypes. Another stereotype is that they are super intelligent or have the most knowledge and the truth is not all Asian Americans are really smart so this affects them because people have so many high standards of them and they cant reach peoples expectations. To people Asian Americans are successful and non struggling and in reality its the opposite in most cases.
